I don’t know about you, but I love happy endings, especially when they’re real stories. So by default, I became obsessed with the Colourpop X Delilah collaboration ever since watching Tati’s PR review on Youtube.
The story is that Delilah, who loves makeup, became a recipient of the Make A Wish Foundation, and her wish was to create makeup that could directly benefit those fighting the battle. So, Colourpop is donating 20% of sales from this Make A Wish collection from October 11, 2018-January 11, 2019 to the Make A Wish foundation. Nice, right?! What I love is how affordable and animal-friendly Colourpop already is with their products. so this collaboration pretty much sealed the deal for me. Learn more here!
I had to control my purchasing decisions…so I bought 5/7 products, hah! I have the Supershockshadow set (4 shadows) and a gloss. Delilah’s collection also includes another peachy nude gloss for the Ultra Gloss line called, “New Day ($6),” and a pinky nude lip color for their Ultra Satin Lip line. I personally have way too many lip colors similar to the pinky nude color, “Wish ($6.50),” which is why I didn’t get it…. even though I’m now heavily debating if I need it… You can also purchase the lip bundle, “Strength ($18),” which includes the 2 glosses and Wish.
The SuperShock shadows are extremely pigmented with a very silky texture. I found that these shadows are perfect for a low-maintenance day since they apply much better with your fingers than with a brush. The tiny circular packaging makes it a breeze to grab and go on your way out the door, too! This set is called, “Journey ($18).” The colors from this collection are named after Delilah’s *journey* in and out of treatment, making them even more special. “Okay“ is a shimmery champagne color with silver glitter that’s great for a natural glow. “Cherish“ is a sparkly bronze with silvere glitter that gives you a natural yet shimmery smokey lid look. “Warrior“ is a beautiful bold navy with turqouise glitter that I’m not sure what to do with yet. Tati lined her bottom lash line with it, but I’ll let you know what I come up with, hah! My favorite is the smooth and metallic copper color, “DJ“. **Keep in mind you can buy these colors separately for $5 as well! These swatches were made with 1-2 swipes using my finger. I wanted to show y’all what the colors look like when you’re rocking an everyday look.
The Ultra Glossy Lip I own is a nude pink color named “JJ ($6),” after Delilah’s sister. Think of this gloss as the perfect one to keep in your bag day after day. It won’t last all day, but it’ll still look extremely natural. It’s less sticky than the Fenty gloss and doesn’t have all the glitter in it, but will still give you the pink tint. The scent is similar to the Christmas/Sugar Cookie candles from Bath & Body Works. Honestly, it’s like the adult version of our Lip Smacker’s glosses in 2nd grade!
What do y’all think? Anything caught your eye… since everything is pretty much under $10 if you don’t want a whole set?! Let me know if there are any other Colourpop products I need to try, or if you have a favorite lippie from this brand that won’t suck the life out of your lips, ahem Ultra Mattes!
